01 Concept
For the current fitness environment, research the fitness process, including how to arrange the fitness plan, how to communicate with the trainer. I try to add new technology into the traditional industry by designing a product that can help users exercise more scientifically and effectively.
Prompt
There is a lack of effective communication between fitness people and gyms and coaches.
Problems
  • How to record the training data while exercising?
  • How to make the contact between trainers and clients better?
  • How to create a more flexible way to make an exercise plan?
Solution
My Gym is a fitness data tracking system connected with gym equipment. It is designed to record exercise data information between gym and users, which can help users exercise more efficient and communicate with their tutors easily.

Phone
Mobile phone application is for collecting workout information, making workout plan and generate workout data dashboard.
Information Collection - Body
Collect information of new users, such as gender, age, height and weight.
Generate accounts for them with body information.

Collect more fitness information for new users.
Clarify their exercise goal.
Connect to their gym and coach if they have.
Dashboard
Home page includes daily exercise data summary, year summary and future plans.
Each exercise have their own tracking history records.
Profile
Users profile shows users' fitness information based on the register questions.
Also, they can track their body data changing.
Create a Plan
Users can create very detailed exercise plans including estimate time, estimate calories and alarm.














To-do list help them collect items for future training during daily browsing, making planning easier and more convenient.
Instructional Video
Instructional videos allow users exercise by following intruction. Make their exercise easier and more professional.
Exercise Mode
Users can choose exercise mode while wokingout.
Their phone will record their body information, like heart rate and burning calories.
Watch
Watch application is for collecting workout data while exercising. It reflects plans that users created on phone app. It can also connect to gym and specific equipment.
Simple data feedback on watch device.
Allow users to view them quickly.
The content of the data can also change depending on whether the equipment is connected or not.
More specific data can be collected for exercise that needs to be connected to the equipment.
And only basic data such as heartbeat can be collected for exercise that do not need equipment.
Gym-Tablet
Gym tablet with “Mygym” function will collect information for phone app.
TV
TV app is for watching instructional videos and working out at home.

Summary
Background checks show that fitness is still a big part of people life. Fitness coaches and gyms offer teaching sessions to help enthusiasts make their plans more scientifically. For this part, we can design a product to optimize the existing training mode and help both for trainers and trainees to transmit workout information and record data more efficiently.

“I can do the exercise by myself  through watching  tutorials.”
Amateur users usually learn how to work out by watching tutorials. They do not need or seldom need professional coaches’ guidance. They have their own goals, such as losing weight. They don’t have very detailed training plans and schedules to follow. And they tend to do workout in their free time.
““I want to get professional guidance but I’m not a athlete.”
This group is somehow between amateurs and professionals. They want to have a scientific and systematic fitness training but distinguish it from the intensity training of athletes. They often choose private tutors to help them make plans and train them. They will have stronger and more specific goals, such as getting in good shape through fitness. They are willing to follow a systematic training schedule and program, and workout is more like taking a class for them.
